Marketplace availability helps athenahealth provider clients elevate patient financial experiences with AccessOne MobilePay

Charlotte, N.C. – May 17, 2022 – AccessOne, a leading provider of patient financial technology designed to help consumers manage and pay for their healthcare costs, today announced a partnership with athenahealth, Inc. through the company’s Marketplace program. As part of the athenahealth® Marketplace, AccessOne MobilePay is now available to athenahealth’s growing network of healthcare providers, providing an easy mobile payment experience that simplifies the collection efforts of all patient self-pay balances.

MobilePay, AccessOne’s post-visit payment platform, augments existing payment collection channels by stripping away the friction that prevents patients from easily making a payment. With MobilePay, patient statements are delivered immediately via text message and payments can be made from a mobile phone without needing to download an app, set up a portal account, or reference a paper statement sent in the mail.

“AccessOne’s core mission is to enable patients to live healthy lives by reducing the stress of paying for their care,” says Mark Spinner, chief executive officer of AccessOne. “By doing that, we help revenue cycle teams keep self-pay revenue healthy as well. This latest partnership with the athenahealth Marketplace underscores that mission by extending the value proposition of AccessOne MobilePay to athenahealth’s network of providers, allowing consumers to easily access and pay their bills anywhere, at any time.”

According to aggregated customer performance data, healthcare organizations using AccessOne MobilePay accelerate self-pay collections by receiving 70% of patient payments within seven days. Customers collect, on average, between 20-30% of all self-pay statements via MobilePay.
