Your AccessOne MedCard management team is the first in the country
to effectively apply propensity-to-pay data to medical credit cards.

Russell A. Salton, III

MD, Principal and Chief Executive Officer

With his mantra "when you extend care, you extend credit," Dr. Salton's passion for solving our country's healthcare financing crisis is undeniable. It's in his blood. As a college student, he spent summers working in the business office of a hospital built by his grandfather. As a third-generation physician, he was co-founder and CEO of Metrolina Family Physicians, which became the largest independent family practice group in the Southeast. He subsequently co-founded a managed care company, Primary PhysicianCare, and later served as Medical Director of Aetna Carolinas. As founder and CEO of AccessOne MedCard, Dr. Salton remains steadfast in his conviction that our country's hospitals and patients deserve affordable healthcare financing solutions.

Tammy Geis

Chief Financial Officer

As former vice president of finance for Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC, Tammy understands all too well the unique predicament of hospital CFOs torn between care and accountability. After earning her CPA, Tammy joined Ernst & Young and worked with hospitals, physicians, nursing homes, home health and other healthcare related entities. As AccessOne CFO, she works closely with the financial departments of our client hospitals and manages our financial activities and banking relationships. She also oversees our Quality Assurance and Compliance Programs to ensure adherence to state and federal regulations relating to HIPPA and the credit card industry.

Stephen C. Bernard

Principal and Chief Information Officer

Steve shares the conviction that hospitals should be able to offer their self-pay patients real, flexible and affordable payment options. Toward that end, for the past 10 years, he has decisively and unflappably guided the development and maintenance of our proprietary software systems. Prior to joining AccessOne, Steve earned his MBA and consulted with several banks, including Wachovia, State Street, and Fleet, as well as Fidelity Investments, Aetna, and Travelers. As AccessOne CIO, he also manages our IT and reporting departments.

Russell A. Salton, IV

Chief Operating Officer

Like his father, Rusty grew up with the conviction that, just as no one should be denied healthcare, no one should ever be denied healthcare financing. After joining the company in 2004, Rusty was introduced to hospital staff training and established CBO/EBO work flows and a system supported referral process. His current role as COO and manager of our call center operations, sales and hospital client relations ensures that every patient who wants to pay his or her bill is given the opportunity to do so.

Gary Heeseman

Senior Vice President, Business Development

With both an entrepreneurial background and over 19 years experience in healthcare marketing, it's no surprise that Gary continually seeks game changing strategies for potential customers. His unique perspective fits perfectly with AccessOne MedCard, an innovative, "best-in-class" self-pay solution for hospital clients.

Angie Gardner

Senior Vice President, Client Relations/Training

Although her official title reads somewhat differently, Angie is AccessOne's "go-to-it-fix-it" person. With 23 years' business healthcare experience, Angie has an exceptional understanding of the growing state of patient anxiety regarding affordable healthcare financing. As AccessOne's onsite trainer, Angie's warmth and expertise are yet another reason hospitals choose and stay with AccessOne MedCard.

Kim Youngblood

Vice President, IT/Client Reports

Prior to AccessOne, Kim spent eight years at Premier Inc. healthcare alliance, deploying the technical support desk, as well as implementing, managing, and ultimately, lowering the operating expenses of hospital and health systems with the Premier Decision Support and Cost Accounting software suite. Kim brought that considerable experience to AccessOne MedCard in 2003, which she applies to enhance our program and data management/systems areas.

Debbie Lee

Vice President, Quality Assurance and Compliance

A cardiac nurse from Mobile, Alabama, Debbie settled in Charlotte nearly 20 years ago to pursue a career in healthcare. She spent five years at the Bradford Clinic, learning the ins and outs of medical billing and compliance, before landing at AccessOne nearly 10 years ago. Now, Debbie establishes and upholds quality assurance and compliance for our company and clients.

Amy Anderson

Vice President, Call Center Operations

With over 10 years' call center experience, Amy is fluent in the language of customer service, establishing and maintaining the highest standards for our call center. With her leadership, we're confident assuring client hospitals that patient experiences with AccessOne MedCard will be both positive and friendly.
